Powered using a new, user-friendly online learning platform, BLS Blended teaches the same curriculum and hones the same skills as the traditional, instructor-led course – however, it takes less time to complete. A Blended course is divided into two parts: The BEST of Both worlds!!! Shorter time, incredibly efficient and proven students absorbs better this way then sitting one day in the classroom!
Part 1: ONLINE: a self-paced, cognitive learning and assessment program with easy access to a rich array of a variety of eLearning engaging resources, such as activities, learning videos, knowledge checks and a 2 attempt electronic exam. Once you have completed the first part of the program you will move on to the in-person portion. It is self paced, autonomous, you can start and stop anytime for as many times as you like till complete.
Part 2 — IN CLASS After successfully completing the online component, students earn a Class Pass to attend the in-classroom component. The Heart & Stroke led instructor, reviews with you the online component, answers all your questions in a very dynamic in person session where you will benefit from ample opportunity for hands-on skills practice, expert coaching, debriefing, team scenarios and comprehensive skills testing..
BLS Blended Provider is the fundamental course for all healthcare and emergency medical providers, delivered in a flexible format. The course covers the same curriculum and teaches the same skills as the traditional instructor-led course but is delivered online through self-paced learning modules. Then followed by an in-classroom training to offer a comprehensive experience. The course covers single- and multi-rescuer basic life support skills, focusing on high-quality CPR and team dynamics in a wide variety of prehospital and in-facility settings.
BLS is a prerequisite for advanced resuscitation courses and many healthcare-related training programs. A current completion card is often required for employment in the healthcare field.
The BLS Blended Provider course is designed for first-time BLS learners and those who do not use their BLS skills regularly. After successfully passing the online component (self-directed, but typically approx. 1 – 2 hours), students attend a 2-hour in-person skills practice and evaluation session. Students have access to the online learning environment for 1 year.
